Everyone looks for cheap paint. Tradesmen look for paint that holds.
Champion Color is a Polish brand focused on enamels and protective coatings for wood and metal - plus washable paints for interior. Not a designer brand. A tradesman's brand - the one you reach for when you've painted the front door five times and want it to last five more years.
Alkyd enamels - glossy finish, hard surface, wear resistance.
Water-based enamels - low odour, fast drying, cleans up with water.
Interior washable paints - acrylic, matte and satin.
Wood and metal exterior paints - for fences, joinery, metal structures.
Alkyd holds longer and resists wear and impact better - best for exterior doors, railings, high-traffic surfaces. Water-based has less odour and dries fast - more practical for interior when you can't ventilate for long.
Not directly over active rust. Mechanical cleaning first down to clean metal, then anti-corrosion primer, then enamel.
Depends on surface preparation and exposure. Enamel applied correctly on a primed and degreased surface lasts several years. Without proper preparation, any enamel will start peeling within the first year.
The standard washable is fine for general use. For a kitchen where walls get washed often, look for the high scrub resistance product in the range. Satin holds up better than matte in humid zones.
On new or stripped wood - yes. A wood primer seals the grain and ensures enamel adhesion. On old wood with intact enamel in good condition - light sanding for adhesion and direct application.
