For water-based paint - synthetic blend bristle (microfibre + nylon). 50-70 mm for cutting corners, 100 mm for medium areas. Natural bristle (hog) is for lacquers and solvent-based paint - it absorbs too much water on acrylic.

Microfibre (8-12 mm nap) lays paint more evenly and sheds fewer fibres - first choice on smooth walls. Velour (14-18 mm nap) holds more paint, good for textured walls and decorative plaster. Foam is only for lacquers and enamels.

For holes in normal concrete up to 10 mm - hammer drill is enough. For reinforced concrete or holes over 12 mm - rotary hammer with SDS-Plus. Occasional drilling - hammer drill. Professional work - rotary hammer.

For liquid paint and filler in a 5-10 L bucket - simple twin-spiral mixer, 1000-1200 W. For floor screed or mineral adhesive in a large bucket - dual mixer or 2-speed, 1400-1800 W. The shaft stays in the product, no quick-swap.

A professional brush kept clean (washed straight after use, dried vertically tip down) lasts 6-12 months of intensive work or 2-3 years of DIY. A cheap brush sheds bristles after a few uses and leaves streaks on the finish.
