Vidaron products appear in these categories:

Oiled wood breathes. Paint seals it shut, then cracks when the wood moves. That's the logic behind Vidaron.

Vidaron is a Polish brand working exclusively with wood. Doesn't do wall paint. Specialises in wood protection and finishing. Preservatives, stains, varnishes, oils, wax. Each product for a specific job.

Wood preservatives and antiseptics - the mandatory first coat before any finish on exterior wood.

Wood stain (lazura) - a semi-transparent layer that lets the grain show through.

Interior and exterior varnishes - matte, satin, gloss.

Oils and wax - for parquet, furniture, surfaces that should stay warm to the touch.

Preservative penetrates deep into the grain and protects against fungus and insects - it's the base coat, not the finish. Stain is the semi-transparent surface layer that protects against UV and rain. On exterior wood: preservative first, then stain.

Standard varnish isn't recommended for fully exposed exterior wood - it cracks as the wood expands and contracts with temperature changes. For fences and timber facades choose Vidaron stain or opaque exterior wood paint. They handle thermal cycling better.

Depends on UV exposure, rainfall and orientation. Stain applied correctly on prepared wood (preservative plus primer coat) typically needs renewing every 3-5 years on exposed surfaces. Covered areas like verandas last longer.

For parquet Vidaron offers polyurethane varnishes and wood oils. Varnish gives a hard surface with good traffic resistance. Oil penetrates and nourishes the wood - the finish is natural matte and repairs locally without full sanding.

On new or freshly sanded wood - yes, apply Vidaron preservative or a compatible primer before stain. On old wood with damaged stain - mechanical cleaning first, then preservative, then stain. Don't skip the preservative on exterior wood.
