Liquid Nails - High-Strength Mounting Without Drilling
Don't want to drill through your tiles or marble? Liquid nails are the practical fix.
Liquid nails are high-grab mounting adhesives designed to replace the hammer and wall plug for decorative and medium structural work. A single 2-3 cm adhesive spot holds 20-50 kg pull-off load depending on formulation and substrate.
Application is straightforward: clean dry surface, apply spots or a bead, press for 30-60 seconds, support with tape or a prop for 15-20 minutes until initial grab sets. Full strength at 24 hours.
Product variants by material: for wood (more flexible), for metal and glass (chemical resistance), universal (most indoor applications). Soudal Fix All, Ceresit, TKK - each series with specific multi-substrate grades.
Clear limitation: doesn't replace chemical anchors or plugs for heavy dynamic loads like structural beams or heavily loaded shelving.
Depends on product and substrate. High-performance grades reach 40-60 kg per spot on concrete or timber. On drywall or porous surfaces - significantly less. Always check the product technical datasheet for specific values.
Yes - that's one of the main advantages. Surface must be clean and degreased. On smooth glazed tile, some formulations need a contact primer to achieve full bond strength.
MS-polymer and hybrid grades handle moisture well and are suitable for bathrooms. Standard acrylic grades are indoor dry only. Check the label - if it says 'wet areas' or 'humid environments' you're fine.
Initial grab at 15-20 minutes with temporary support. Handling strength after 1-2 hours. Full strength at 24 hours. Below 10 degrees C, extend all times by around 50%.
With difficulty. Quality liquid nails are permanent - removal needs mechanical force or cutting and will usually leave marks or damage. Plan the installation as permanent before you apply.
