Nicoglass is a brand specialising in fibreglass reinforcement mesh for construction. Products are built for plaster and render systems - exterior and interior - where the coating layer needs textile reinforcement to prevent cracking.
At Colorista.md, Nicoglass is stocked in two weights: 40 g/m² fibreglass mesh and 60 g/m² fibreglass mesh. Different weights for different applications - 40 g/m² for wall filler reinforcement and thinner layers, 60 g/m² for exterior render or surfaces with higher cracking risk.
Reinforcement mesh isn't optional on exterior facades. Render without mesh fails at the first real freeze-thaw cycle - and in Chisinau those cycles happen every winter. 40g is sufficient for interior filler and plaster reinforcement. 60g is for external thermal insulation systems (ETICS) and facades with high mechanical requirements.
Apply the first adhesive or plaster coat, lay the mesh and press in with a trowel until covered by the material, then apply a second coat over it. The mesh needs to be inside the layer, not on the surface.
Construction fibreglass meshes are generally coated with alkali-resistant treatment. Check the product label to confirm - this matters for facade systems with cement-based mortar.
