Framing or direct bond? Perlfix is for the second option. Knauf Perlfix is a gypsum-based mounting adhesive for bonding drywall sheets directly to the wall without metal studs or tracks. It is the fast method for walls that are reasonably flat with minor irregularities - where framing is overkill. Made by Knauf in Germany. Perlfix is part of the Knauf drywall system, compatible with standard GKB and GKBI boards. Works on concrete, brick and aerated concrete. 25 kg covers roughly 10-12 m² of wall depending on levelling thickness. Application: dabs of adhesive on the board at 20-25 cm spacing, board pressed to wall, checked with a straight edge. After setting - wall is ready for skim coat and paint. Advantage over framing: faster, cheaper on small areas, less room depth lost.
